The National Gallery is one of the most impressive art museums in the world, housing a collection of over 23,000 paintings spanning from the 1200s to the early 1900s. In 2024, the gallery celebrates its 200th anniversary. Entrance is free.You can view works by artists such as Titian, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Monet, Van Gogh, and many more, covering the 16th to 19th centuries. There are also paintings by Flemish artist Vermeer.

Two of Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" paintings, out of the total seven, are originals with his signature and can be seen here. The "Sunflowers" in Japan were created by Van Gogh while he was waiting for Gauguin, and they are reproductions.

The gallery currently consists of 66 rooms, which is approximately equivalent to the size of six soccer fields.
